MIL-SPEC Powder Coatings

MIL-PRF-24712 is the standardized specification for thermosetting powder coatings. There are several types of powder including epoxy, TGIC, and hybrid. Classes of powder include interior or exterior applications, basecoats and topcoats, and those powders used for wet or dry locations.  AMS-STD-595 (which replaces the older FED-STD-595) was developed by the U.S. government as a color description and communication system. There are a wide range of standardized colors available as seen here.

Plastisol

Plastisol is a high-build, super shock resistant poly coating that is used to “rubberize” parts. It creates grip and keeps parts from marring paint or powder. It withstands high impacts, is oil and fuel resistant, and will work for interior or exterior applications.

Super Grips

Super grips are a more permanent solution to grip tape. They are a very aggressive texture powder that are ideal for coating surfaces such as steps. Multiple colors are available.
